Collina Strada Fills The Void For Unique Yet Gorgeous Handbags!
Even in my purse-hungry shopping rage at the Nordstrom sale this past week, I had a hard time finding a bag that I absolutely had to buy… and trust me, I was trying (even with first dibs on the selection at the store’s crack-of-dawn opening)! I, of course, did buy a little somethin’-somethin’ (I just wouldn’t have felt complete otherwise), but I couldn’t help but wish I had found a bag that was practical and chic and was something I was really excited about, like for example, something from Collina Strada, a quirky handbag line that I’ve recently discovered and have completely fallen in lust with!
This kind of attitude is what inspired founder Hillary Taymour to launch LA-based line Collina Strada — the desire to create something more unique, more interesting, more eye-catching than what was already available. The result is a collection of handbags that incorporate impeccable craftsmanship and practical shapes with sharp unexpected details and unique textures. I love her signature use of leather pleating and paneling, which takes the look of your traditional backpack about 26 notches up the style scale, and her use of printed and embroidered canvas is eye-catching without looking cheap. I’m seriously considering returning my impulse Nordstrom sale purchase and putting the money towards a Sierra bag!
