A few years ago I wrote about Birkin bags in droves during Thanksgiving at a chi chi New York City hotel. Now, I am turning the spotlight to The Birkin bag on the beach! I do own this coveted bag and it does have a prime spot in my closet sitting under it’s very own raincoat.
I admit that I love collecting all those orange boxes which you can only get if you purchase something. Here’s my question…would you wear a blazer and jeans to the beach? Here’s my next question…would you use a Birkin Bag on the beach? We’re vacationing at one of our favorite spots in Palm Beach and have noticed Birkin bags sitting in the sand.
My husband asked me…do they make Birkin beach bags? I can’t imagine plopping my legendary Birkin in the sand. There are many occasions to use such an iconic bag but I never thought of the beach! Is there now a “best dressed beach list”? I’m one who can appreciate my Birkin bag and my Verdura cuff but I’m not about to wear these pieces on the beach! Who wants the hassle of protecting coveted pieces from the sand, the waves and suntan lotion. Although I’ve been told…”it’s just a bag”. Whatever the reason…it’s up to you!
