We love lighting candles. Yes, we’re more careful than we were three years ago! My favorite line was created by Piero Fornasetti. Although his candles, pillows and plates maybe too edgy or weird for some, we think they’re ultra cool and definitely worth owning at least one piece. Fornasetti’s home accessories are in a class of their own with great attention to detail.
His combined talents as a painter, sculptor, engraver and interior designer inspired this very imaginative collection. Although we’re featuring the purple candle/container with the pistol design, Fornasetti generally used the same woman (opera star, Lina Caverlieri’s face) in many of his designs varying on the actual details. “Her face became the ultimate enduring motif.”
The candle/containers feature scented wax, designed by “master perfumer” Olivier Polege. Fornasetti’s pieces are collectors items and have been in production since the 1940’s. Yes, they’re pricey but isn’t that why you read A Few Goody Gumdrops? Click the link to indulge Fornasetti’s exciting candles, plates, trays and pillows! Today Fornasetti Atelier is maintained by his son, Barnabu who has “revived as well as reinterpreted his father’s designs” and is “the custodian of his father’s legacy.”
