We just received some amazing pictures from the KENZO Collection A/W 2013.The collection features everything from playful colors to shades of black, lots of texture and rich fabrics such as Jacquard, gold lamé, lurex, laminated printed trousers, lace and shiny embossed croc, just to name a few. We’re totally loving the Moon-bomber jacket with the wide sleeves (minus the unflattering coordinating short/wide/hips skirt) and the long coat in lurex with it’s repeated patterns and textures. While this is not your everyday run-of-the-mill look the pieces are “eye catching” and totally unique with an interesting mix of fabrics.
Rewind…I bought my first Kenzo sweater and shoes in Paris (at his store on the Left Bank) twenty six years ago and was as mesmerized by Kenzo then as I am today. While I have not really thought of Kenzo much in the last decade the line seems to have undergone a resurgence. While I’m not sure these are pieces I’d wear during the day or evening with the exception of the bomber jacket with the eye motif, the pieces have a certain appeal and on the right person would look amazing especially the over-the-knee white boots with the “eye” detailing. The gold peep toe booties would truly dazzle any outfit if you’re bold enough to wear them!
