Tom Ford Fabulousness???

While I think Tom’s Fords calf-hair Icon Satchel Bag is stunning, I’m having a problem with the rather large gold-tone initials smack in the middle of the bag. Looks to me like there should be a “W” before the “TF” or a “B” after the “TF”….WTF or TFB and you know what those initials stand for! First of all, who needs the designer’s logo plastered (front and center) on a handbag? If your name is Tina Fey or your initials are TF then it works. On the Hermes Birkin and Maison Moreaus’ Bregancon Tote you don’t see a big “H” or “M”. Ford’s Icon Satchel combines elegance and sophistication so there’s really no need for any logo detailing. In my “handbag” opinion, the big gold TF cheapens the look of the bag. It would have looked much classier and quieter without the initials or at the very least…tiny initials.

If you’re buying an expensive bag…you know who the designer is and that’s enough unless you want to broadcast it to the world. Some designers just don’t realize how awesome a bag can be without their initials. If you’re loving this bag in basic black, taupe, winter white or dark grey, click the purple links to indulge.
