Miu Miu Redeems with Gorgeous Spring Shoes

A couple of days ago, we talked about how Gucci’s clothing was dowdy and plain, but its shoes made up for any failings in its textiles. Apparently, Miu Miu is taking cues from Gucci – its spring clothes leave a lot to be desired, but its footwear continues to impress. The newest offerings are full of unique embellishments, playful homages to counterculture, and a fresh take on old spring favorites like espadrilles and block-heeled sandals. I’m loving Miu Miu’s take on the block heel as seen above…the golden glitter round toe pumps and the red patent pumps with the ankle ribbons.

Why We *Heart* Miu Miu’s Shoes

The seventies seem to be the decade we can’t escape, but fashionistas in 2017 apparently can’t get enough of it. Though we expect heeled sandals to make their inevitable debut every season, I am liking this departure from the delicate and the addition of a platform and a chunky block heel. They’re – dare I say it – kinda groovy. And the blush hue is on point, as it works as a neutral while giving the shoe a romantic flair. The woman who wears it will be aware of her femininity, but also her power. I do love the blush/nude ballerina flats with the ribbon ankle ties.
