She’s eschewing her traditional designers and collaborating with young digital influencers. For 2017, she tapped Nicole Warne, owner of Garypeppergirl.com, vlogger Negin Mirsalehi, Leaf Greener, famed Chinese stylist, and Elena Perminova, who’s known for her Instagram charity “SOS by Lena Perminova.” The women, who with their combined powers reach over 7 million, have each designed a pair of signature shades. The spring campaign is, at its heart, a celebration of influential women. Linda Farrow describes her clientele as “fashionable, educated, creative and individual.” By eliciting design input from digital influencers spread throughout the globe, the brand hopes to promote global awareness and savvy. Each frame is as different as its designer: from vintage to mirror lenses, cat eye to glam gold, each pair of sunglasses reflects power, boldness, while championing diversity. The campaign manages to tackle the issues of women’s empowerment and diversity through the – ahem – lens of fashion, an industry that isn’t always known for celebrating either.
